Staff

The nursery operates under the guidance of the Nursery Manager Julie Dawson, who is ultimately responsible for the overall supervision, organisation and management of child-care routines throughout the nursery. The proprietor, Jill Jones, supports Julie in her role on the management team, along with an Officer In Charge and Deputy in each setting.

Staff employed at Giggles & Wiggles are NNEB qualified or hold the equivalent recognized qualification. Trainees are employed from time to time, although these are always supervised. All staff are DBS cleared and join the update service so that this can be checked at any time. All staff are Paediatric First Aid trained and attend a Safeguarding Level 1 course, with senior staff going on to a level 2.

Staff co-ordinators are given more in depth training in accordance with their roles, for example health and safety, equal opportunities or special educational needs. Staff meetings are held quarterly and room leader meetings are held every two months so that any knowledge gained through courses can be cascaded down to all staff.
